Creamy Taco Dip

Ingredients :

For the Base :
  • 1 package (8 oz ) cream cheese, softened.(8 oz is approximately 227 grams for solids like cream cheese)
  • 1 cup sour cream.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning).
For the Toppings :
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (seeds removed).
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional).
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions.
  • Optional: Pickled jalapeños, fresh cilantro, or avocado slices.

Instructions :

Prepare the Base :
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly blended. Spread this mixture evenly across a serving dish or shallow platter.
Add Toppings :
On top of the creamy base, layer the shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions. Feel free to personalize with your preferred toppings.
Chill :
Place the dish in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve :
Serve the dip chilled alongside tortilla chips, pita chips, or fresh vegetable sticks such as celery or carrots.

  • For a more substantial dip, consider adding a layer of refried beans or seasoned ground beef beneath the cream cheese base. If you desire additional heat, incorporate a drizzle of hot sauce or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes on top.
